Ashford resident and Cycle Ashford ambassador Henry Urand has successfully defended his World Championship title by winning the Para Triathlon in Wollongong, Australia.
The twenty-three year old swept aside the competition in the PTS3 Category Field, finishing over two minutes ahead of the other athletes to retain his crown.
Henry said: "It's a special day, I can't really believe it. After winning last year it felt like a bit of a fluke, but I am here to stay. I'd really like to thank everyone who has supported me to be able to live my dream."
Ranked number 1 in the World, and now the double World Champion, Henry has no thoughts on slowing down and will be ready to compete again next year.
In the meantime, if he passes you on one of his regular training rides around Ashford, make sure to give him a wave.
